Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) is pleased to partner with two leading universities to launch the NAC Women in Aviation Scholarship Funds. Both funds seek to promote diversity and nurture the next generation of female aviation talent for the next four academic years.

Each year, two female candidates will be selected and awarded the scholarships at Cranfield, one from the MSc in Air Transport Management (ATM) and one from the MSc in Aerospace Vehicle Design (AVD).

The Embry-Riddle fund will award two scholarships annually to female students enrolled at Embry-Riddle’s Singapore campus, one to a candidate from the BSc in Aeronautics and a second to a candidate from the BSc in Aviation Business Administration.

The awardees of the scholarships will be announced by the end of the year.

Keith Mason, Professor of Air Transport Management at Cranfield, said: “We really welcome this fantastic scholarship to provide support for high caliber women in aviation to study at Cranfield. As an industry, there has been important progress to improve diversity and initiatives such as this will further support women in their aviation careers.”

Mark Westwood, Professor of Aeronautics at Cranfield, said: “We are honored to be chosen by Nordic Aviation Capital as partner on the Women in Aviation Scholarship Fund. Enabling a diverse community is an important objective for us at Cranfield, and this support will accelerate progress towards this, leaving a valuable and lasting legacy in the aviation workforce.”

Matthew Flaherty, Vice Chancellor at Embry-Riddle Asia, said: “We greatly appreciate NAC’s support of female students pursuing careers in aircraft financing, leasing and management services. This scholarship fund is important because it aims to financially support talented young women, a growing yet underrepresented stakeholder in the aviation workforce. We hope this fund inspires and helps pave the way for the future generation of women in aviation.”

Norman C.T. Liu, President & CEO of NAC, said: “We’re very pleased to launch these inaugural Women in Aviation Scholarships with Cranfield and Embry-Riddle Asia. We hope that these scholarships will encourage more women to enter the aviation industry in both the general management and engineering fields.”
