Technical Finance Manager

NAC Technical is the biggest discretionary spending department in the company and is currently working with the finance department on the implementation of a comprehensive control system for technical expenditure, including an integrating purchase order module, with the dual objective of improving the efficiency and reporting on our technical spend. You will be expected to play an integral role in the implementation, delivery and ongoing management of this initiative.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for creating and tracking the annual Tech Op Plan Budget for the Technical Department

  • Track Financial Performance within the Technical Department against the budgets

  • Assist the Technical team in preparation of project budgets

  • Report to Technical senior management on spend versus budget

  • Based on SV costs incurrent, develop standard costs for checks,

  • Assist finance team with month-end / qtr-end reporting, accruals and GL analysis

  • Serviced Entity and Technical department tech spend forecasting

  • Reporting: Weekly Technical Update report, Servicer Reporting for Serviced Entity

  • Technical analysis and transition cost reporting

  • Analysing financial data to provide reports when required

  • Preparation of Technical department monthly presentation for SMT

  • Development of a robust financial control framework for the Technical Department

  • Other ad hoc work as and when required

Competencies

The successful candidate will have competences within the following areas:

  • Working knowledge of ERP systems – Microsoft D365 advantageous

  • Understanding of aircraft maintenance programs and maintenance costs (desirable not essential)

  • Experience in preparing consolidated management reports

  • Highly motivated individual with the ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines

  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with colleagues and build teamwork

  • Excellent numerical skills, strong written and verbal communication

  • High proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.

Professional qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant with 2 years plus PQE preferred

  • Prior aircraft leasing experience is beneficial
